The 2023 growing season was in a word, ideal. While budbreak was delayed due to a cold, wet spring, the arrival of warm and consistent weather throughout summer provided perfect conditions for the vines and the maturing grapes. Even though we had a couple of small bouts of rain during harvest, and a brief cold spell that created two waves of picking between the earlier- and later-ripening varieties, neither the rain or cold had any negative impact on the exceptional quality of the fruit. As a result, our Columbia Valley grapes yielded wines with deep, alluring color, rich textures, and complex fruit profiles, while retaining the natural acidity to produce bright and impeccably structured wines.
